Sardinia - the Brotherhood of Orso

SARDINIA,The Brotherhood of Orso:

It is always interesting to observe people’s behaviour, to watch how they react to circumstance, and why? It can be even more intriguing when events unfold in a small, close-knit community.

I have always had a love affair with Italy, its folk, its culture and its history, a country where old traditions continue and reminders of ancient civilizations abound. This is very much the case in Sardinia where superstition and old beliefs still persist, where criminal organizations could easily wield great influence.

sardinia-the-brotherhood-of-OrsoSo, when I first read about the mysterious ’Nuraghe’, prehistoric, cone-shaped structures whose purpose is not yet fully explained, I tried to imagine the effect the discovery of an object of great value would have on the inhabitants of a small village.

Anticipation of wealth, greed, envy, revenge and fear are all great motivators. In ‘Sardinia, the Brotherhood of Orso’, I have sought to explore how each character might cope with what Fate deals out. Hunger, poverty, infidelity, expediency, lust, abduction, murder, love? I try to utilize all those emotions to weave a story which, while examining these human foibles, involves and captures the reader, which entertains and satisfies.
